This user was sleeping soundly when his phone rang early in the morning. He explained that he had the wrong number, but the caller refused to believe him!
Ready for Some Rest and Relaxation

OP (Original Poster) took two weeks of vacation at his current job. However, it didn’t start off as he wanted it to when a random guy called him on the first day.
A Random Caller

On his first day off, right in the “middle of the morning,” at 6:00, he got a call. Since it was early, he didn’t answer.
Persistent Calls

However, after the first call, another three came one after the other. On the fourth call, OP finally decided to answer.
Come Here, Right Now!

The moment OP answered, he was shocked! The voice on the other end of the line said, “Hello? Where are you? It’s your first day. We’re waiting for you.”
You’re Not Looking For Me

OP was confused. After all, as far as he knew, he had “no f****** clue” who called him.
He added, “I didn’t have any job or anything planned that day; I’m supposed to hang out with my friends.”
My Apologies

So, he went ahead and told the caller that he had the wrong number.
OP said, “D***. Sorry, dude, you got the wrong number. No clue what you’re talking about.”
The End?

OP thought that he had solved his problem. So, he made himself comfortable once again and went back to sleep.
Never-Ending Disturbance

Unfortunately for OP, the random caller, whom he now referred to as “the a**hole,” called him two more times in the next hour.
Misplaced Accusations

Then, he left OP a message where he said that “young people are lazy.”
The caller also said he “can’t believe” that OP “lied” to him after a great interview.
Setting Things Straight

After a while, the employer ended up calling OP again. This time, OP picked up the phone.
He knew this would be the last time he’d deal with the man. So, he said, “Yes, I know I’m late. I’m on my way. I’ll be here soon, promise!”
Closing the Deal

After that, OP immediately hung up. He then blocked the man’s number before going back to sleep once again.
Silver Lining

OP couldn’t believe someone like the random caller existed. So, he was thankful and recognized how lucky he was with his current employer.
He wrote, “I can’t believe the first time I told him that it was a wrong number wasn’t enough. I’m pretty lucky to have an above-average employer back then—and still now—but f***, some places must really suck.”
The Final Blow

Later, OP checked the caller’s phone number and matched it with a store on Google Maps. The store itself was two hours away from OP, so he was absolutely sure he had nothing to do with it.
So, as a final blow, he said, “I left a bad review saying the person working here harassed me on the phone.”
The Community’s Pieces of Advice

Some users left OP with other suggestions on how he can exact another petty revenge.
One said, “Now unblock that motherf***** and call him at 2 AM regularly to tell him he is late!”
“Go to the place. Learn the manager’s name. Look up their information. Start calling. Young people these days—you need to give them things served on a silver plate,” said another.
Hilarious and Petty Ideas

Redditors’ creative juices were flowing, and more and more people gave OP clever pieces of advice.
One Redditor wrote, “Call five minutes before closing and ask for the prices on everything they carry.”
Then, a man suggested, “Since he only has the workplace phone number, cause chaos there. Call in sick or call to say you’ll be running late today a few times. Maybe you’ll be lucky and get someone on the phone who is not in the know—or you’ll just annoy the person who annoyed you.”
I Feel You

Then, another Redditor shared something similar he had experienced before. It turns out OP’s not entirely alone when dealing with these things!
He said, “Not the same thing, but similar, I guess. I started a new job, and on my third day, I woke up to a really nasty cold. Sneezing, runny nose, all the symptoms. I told my now ex-wife I was going to go to work so they could see I really was sick. After a couple of hours, I told my boss that I needed to go home. I was really sick. He said he could see that and had wondered how long I was going to last. He wanted to see me in his office. I went, and he said the company was odd. If I stayed out for one day, I was not that sick. If I stayed out for three days, I was really sick. So I was to stay out until I was well. This was a Wednesday. By Sunday, I was over everything and went back on Monday. What I was told by my co-workers was I must have been really sick.”
Wrong Reaction

Other Redditors pointed out that the way the color—the employer—acted was disgusting, considering he was a boss or a manager.
“I can’t even imagine thinking about this for more than a few minutes. If a new guy no-shows, my primary concern is that they’re safe. If they’re just ghosting me, I’m moving on, then trying to figure out if there’s anything I should do differently going forward,” said one man.
What can you say about OP’s revenge story? Do you have other suggestions on how he could’ve better executed his revenge?
