OP (Original Poster) turned to TikTok to vent her frustration about her 7-year-old child, Jayde, getting a permanent tattoo. She said that her daughter was visiting her paternal grandmother in California, and that’s when the incident happened.

What’s the Point of Asking for Permission?
During Jayde’s stay with her paternal relatives, OP received a call from her daughter, asking her if she could get a tattoo, and she specifically said no. But then, on camera, OP showed her kid’s leg inked with an uneven, tiny heart.
The Aunt’s Fault
OP asked her daughter how she got a tattoo and who initiated it. Then, Jayde answered that her aunt, Sherena, OP’s 28-year-old sister-in-law, did the tattoo.
Ignoring Her Stance and Authority
According to the child, her aunt asked if she got her mom’s permission, and she said, “Mom said no.” Despite the refusal and knowing what OP said, Sherena tattooed Jayde and her two children.
A Dangerous Procedure
After this, OP asked Jayde if she got tattooed first, and she confirmed that that was the case. She then told OP that her aunt used the same needle for everyone, even herself.
It was also revealed that Sherena did not use a stencil to outline the design before using the tattoo gun, hence the messy tattoo. “Luckily, you went first,” said OP to her child.

Aside from that, OP clarified that she never entrusted Jayde to Sherena. She left her child in her paternal grandmother’s care, and she was the one who brought Jayde to visit her aunt.
Blaming the Kid
After OP shared the incident online, Jayde’s grandmother responded, claiming that Sherena did not tattoo OP’s daughter. Contrary to what OP’s saying, she implied that Jayde did it to herself and that it was only henna.
OP defended that it wasn’t henna because it should have gone after three weeks if it was. But they tried to get it out, and the tattoo was still as evident as it was the first day she saw it.
Finding Sherena
In an update, OP said that she had contacted the police and Child Protective Services to report what Sherena did to her daughter. However, the authorities couldn’t do much to address the problem because Sherena was in a different state and had no permanent address, as she was only “squatting” in an unoccupied house where she tattooed the kids.
When the incident was reported, Sherena was already out of the house and couldn’t be found. OP then requested that the police conduct a welfare check on Sherena’s two kids, but it hasn’t been done so far.

In the following weeks, the legal owners of the house Sherena stayed at reclaimed it, which worsened their problem. OP said there isn’t much she can do since she is pregnant and in another state, but she did call every authority she could, and she has taken her daughter to the doctor to have her checked.
