Do You Think Life Is Also Just a Bunch of Hocus Pocus? What Lessons Did You Find From the Movie?

Sure, Hocus Pocus is a classic Halloween family night movie. It’s spooky, funny, and magical, but what really makes it so good and deserving of a re-watch is that it’s a movie with a heart. It’s got tons of lessons kids can easily pick up in its one hour screen time. In fact, one of its overarching themes is sacrifice. Thackery Binx fought and sacrificed to save his sister, Emily, at the beginning of the show; and at the end, Max also willingly sacrificed himself to save his sister, Dani. We do a lot of crazy things for the people we love—sometimes even putting our own selves in danger. However, in hindsight, the same goes to us. The people who love us will always be willing to help us, no matter what it is we’re facing. And in life, it’s such a big comfort to know that there are people who we can rely on, in good times and in bad times.
