30 Young Frankenstein Quotes for Sci-Fi Fans

If you loved the original Frankenstein novel, we’re sure you’ll find these Young Frankenstein quotes hilarious!

Young Frankenstein is a 1974 parody of Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel and its movie adaptations. This movie was directed by Mel Brooks and brought to life by Gene Wilder as Dr. Frederick Frankenstein, Marty Feldman as Igor, Madeline Kahn as Elizabeth, and more.

In the 1970s, it was uncommon for movies to still be in black and white. However, to keep true to the original movies the plot was based on, Mel Brooks decided it would be much more authentic if they recreated the past settings.

Young Frankenstein zooms in on Dr. Frederick Frankenstein and his quest to prove that his grandfather’s theories and experiments were not insane. Instead, he believed that there was some truth to it!

So, he tried to continue the experiments and did his best to bring a dead body back to life. He revived The Monster successfully, but it was not without any consequences.

When Is Science Dangerous to Humanity?

Ever since time immemorial, we have turned to science to advance the human race. Everything from the water we drink to the food we eat and the clothes we wear is a product of science!

Science is undoubtedly helpful—and even vital—for our survival; thanks to scientists’ experiments, we can continuously evolve for the better. However, as the saying goes, too much of anything could be harmful.

In Young Frankenstein, science was coupled with greed. Dr. Frederick Frankenstein wanted to prove, in any and every way, that his grandfather was not crazy.

His desire and pride made him dabble in life and death. This is where everything started to go wrong.

After all, death is an inescapable part of life. If we try to stop that from happening—or if we try to turn back time to bring something dead back to life like what Dr. Frederick Frankenstein did—we’ll be messing up the natural cycle of life.

Like with everything else, there will always be a danger to technological advancements, so it’s the scientists’ job to have foresight and consideration for them. Remember the lessons you’ve learned from these Young Frankenstein quotes, and always be cautious—no matter what you do!
