Grocery Run
OP (Original Poster) is a seven-month pregnant woman whose story happened the day before this story was posted. Everything transpired while she was doing a food and supply run at her local Loblaws
Loblaws is a grocery store chain in Canada. Like most other stores in the country, it has a few “expectant mothers’” parking spaces.
Treating Women Right
These designated parking spaces are intended for pregnant women. However, they could also be used by parents who brought their babies to the store.
She wrote, “They are generally closer to the door, usually beside the handicapped spaces or cart carrel.”
The Day of the Incident
OP was driving behind and following a Lexus as she pulled into the parking lot. As she was heavily pregnant, she planned to use one of the designated parking spots.
Plan Gone Wrong
However, before she could park, the Lexus ahead of her took the available maternity parking space.
She said, “I didn’t think much of it and parked about four to five spaces down from it.”
Middle-Aged Mockery
OP was walking into the store like usual, not minding the woman who stole the parking spot. However, before she entered the store, the woman in the Lexus, who appeared to be in her mid-60s, saw her.
When the woman realized that OP was heavily pregnant, she laughed at her and said, “Oh, I’m so sorry. I didn’t realize.”
Hormonal Outburst
OP acknowledged that what she did next was powered by her hormones and was probably unnecessary. However, she couldn’t keep her opinions to herself.
She said, “You’re obviously not that sorry since you parked in a spot you shouldn’t have!”
Public Altercation
The entitled woman might not have expected OP to react this way. So, she, too, started getting angry.
She walked toward OP and screamed, “F*** you! You’re not entitled to this spot!” OP, caught off guard and overwhelmed with her hormones, started crying in front of the store!
Helpful Bystanders
OP was so thankful when some bystanders started approaching them.
She said, “Thankfully, bystanders don’t like it when people yell and physically intimidate a pregnant lady.”
Help Is on the Way!
About five people came over to “rip her a new one.” They told the entitled woman that she was “way out of line” and that OP was the only person they saw who was entitled to the space.
Get Out of Here!
One gentleman, whom OP referred to as her “hero,” went ahead and called the woman a “Karen.” This was the last straw for her, and she got into her car and drove away!
There’s No Point
OP doesn’t understand why the woman felt she had to confront OP.
She wrote, “Did she think apologizing for her intentionally s***** behavior would make her look less like a Karen?”
No Need for It
If the woman hadn’t approached OP, she would have just let things go and assumed she needed the spot because she had a baby with her. However, after their altercation, OP was 100% sure she didn’t have a child with her and, therefore, had no need for the maternity parking space.

Some users gave OP some suggestions on how she should have faced off with the woman if she wanted to be petty.
A top commenter said, “My petty a** would have replied, ‘Oh my God. When are you due? Pregnancy is kicking my a** at my young age; I can only imagine how rough it must be for you.”

People also pointed out that people like the woman OP encountered would do just about anything to get ahead.
“I’m old as f***, and I don’t do that, but entitled people will use whatever excuse they can think of to take advantage—-being old, having a dog, having children, having an elderly spouse, being really hungry, just needing one item. Those are the tip of the iceberg of excuses,” said one woman on the thread.
Another said, “People don’t apologize when they are obviously in the wrong anymore. They double down and make it somehow your fault; people have no accountability anymore at all.”
