The Married Couple
OP (Original Poster), a 38-year-old woman, and her husband, who’s 43, recently got married, and they have a great relationship. They also have a “healthy s** life” and have good communication.
Safety Measures
OP has a couple of cameras around their house for security purposes. Aside from that, she also uses it to communicate with her children, who don’t have cellphones yet, and mainly to see when they get home from school.
She wrote, “I could care less about the cameras most any other time. I had these—and more—at my old house, but I’ve only set up three so far at the new house. The new house also came with a Ring doorbell camera.”
No Problems at First
OP’s husband works at home, and the cameras have worked well for the first few weeks they were in the house. The cameras showed no signs of glitches, and their Ring doorbell worked great and detected every slight movement.
The First Glitch
The first glitch OP noticed happened the first week that her husband was alone in the house and the first day their kids went to school. By the time their kids came home through the front door, there was no Ring notification, and the timeline glitched as if the shots were deleted.
OP noted, “He is the main Ring account holder, I’m shared. I can’t delete anything.”
Finding Out What’s Wrong
So, that evening, OP mentioned the camera glitch to her husband, and he got defensive, so she initially dropped the issue. According to OP, she wouldn’t have married her husband if she didn’t trust him and was only curious about what happened.
They discussed it again later, and she explained that she didn’t think and wasn’t accusing him of doing something “malicious” but merely pointing out that something definitely happened. Soon after, they agreed to move past it.
Glitches When He’s Alone
OP decided to note when she noticed the “glitches,” as it happened a couple more times. To her, it was weird that they always happened whenever her husband was at home—all alone!

The day this story was posted, OP went to check the garage camera at around two in the afternoon to see if her husband had left the garage open. Her husband frequently does this, and they end up with excessively high power bills, so she always reminds him to shut the door.
He Snapped!
When she checked the garage camera, she got the “Live View Failed” error, and it’s the same with the camera in front of the garage. So, she screen-captured them, sent them to her husband, and asked if he knew why they weren’t working.
OP wrote, “He loses his s***. Starts saying I’m accusing him of hiding things.”
She’s Certainly Suspicious of Him
OP clarified that she doesn’t think her husband is cheating because they have a “healthy s** life,” and they usually communicate. But in this situation, she just doesn’t understand.

Why Would He Act Like That?

Like She Wanted Him to Be Wrong
Apparently, OP did not give any advice or instructions on what her husband could check to fix the cameras and just kept pushing that the glitches were all his doing, pushing him over the edge. OP’s husband doesn’t have any problem with cameras in the house and completely understands why having them makes her feel better.

After careful consideration, OP admitted that she was a little bit of a jerk in this situation. OP mentioned that, overall, she trusts that her husband isn’t doing anything to affect the cameras, and neither does she think that he’s having anybody over at their house.
She said, “I’m not going to set up a nanny cam or any other camera in the house because I do not feel the need to monitor his every movement.” OP also added that if her husband were, in any way, uncomfortable with the cameras, she’d take them down immediately.
