OP (Original Poster) shared his annoying encounter with a fellow passenger on a flight. The woman sat in his assigned seat, so he made sure to exact his revenge!
A Long Flight Ahead
OP was flying from Florida to California to visit his friend. His plane ticket stated he was assigned an aisle seat toward the back of the aircraft.
Seat Occupied
However, when he boarded the plane, he saw a young woman already sitting in his spot, so he politely told her she was probably in the wrong seat and showed her his ticket.
He wrote, “With an eye roll that could have sounded like she was playing Yahtzee, she says, ‘Oh, I’m 24C.’”
That’s Why
Her seat was exactly behind OP’s, and when he looked over at the row, he saw a 300 to 400-pound female sitting in the middle, which is probably why the woman refused to sit at her assigned seat. But it also wasn’t ideal for him as he is 6’1” and weighs 230 pounds.
Determined to Keep the Seat
The woman still refused to get up and let OP sit. They had a 15-second staring contest, and then OP asked, “Well?”
He added, “She says she is ‘comfortable already’ and ‘not moving’ and ‘wants to sleep,’ blah blah.”
Instant Karma
With that, OP had no choice and was forced to sit in the woman’s assigned seat. Fortunately, OP devised an idea for revenge just for the annoying passenger.
He wrote, “Real dumb to put someone upset with you in the seat behind you.”
A Clever Scheme
OP set a silent timer on his phone that went off every two minutes. This would remind him to kick the woman’s seat violently.
Annoying and Unbearable
On top of that, every time the seatbelt sign went off, OP would grab the top of the seat to lift himself, pulling her seat back and forth. There was even a time when OP accidentally pulled her hair as it was draped over the headrest.
OP wrote, “Safe to say she had lots of extra ‘turbulence’ and got absolutely no sleep. There were many death stares and head turns. Each time, I would just smile and wave.”
Tit for Tat
He was confident enough to do that since he knew the woman couldn’t complain as she stole the seat she was sitting on. If she had told the flight attendant what OP was doing, then it was more than likely that she would be asked to sit in the correct seat.
