An Entitled Woman Refused to Vacate His Assigned Seat on a Five-Hour Flight. So, He Kicked and Yanked the Chair Every Two Minutes, Ensuring There’s “Extra Turbulence” All Flight Long!

He got annoyed when a woman wouldn’t budge and get off his assigned plane seat, saying she was “already comfortable.” So, he devised a plan to make sure she’d regret every second of it!

Hell-Bent on Vengeance

OP (Original Poster) shared his annoying encounter with a fellow passenger on a flight. The woman sat in his assigned seat, so he made sure to exact his revenge!

A Long Flight Ahead

OP was flying from Florida to California to visit his friend. His plane ticket stated he was assigned an aisle seat toward the back of the aircraft.

Seat Occupied

However, when he boarded the plane, he saw a young woman already sitting in his spot, so he politely told her she was probably in the wrong seat and showed her his ticket.

He wrote, “With an eye roll that could have sounded like she was playing Yahtzee, she says, ‘Oh, I’m 24C.’”

That’s Why

Her seat was exactly behind OP’s, and when he looked over at the row, he saw a 300 to 400-pound female sitting in the middle, which is probably why the woman refused to sit at her assigned seat. But it also wasn’t ideal for him as he is 6’1” and weighs 230 pounds.

Determined to Keep the Seat

The woman still refused to get up and let OP sit. They had a 15-second staring contest, and then OP asked, “Well?”

He added, “She says she is ‘comfortable already’ and ‘not moving’ and ‘wants to sleep,’ blah blah.”

Instant Karma

With that, OP had no choice and was forced to sit in the woman’s assigned seat. Fortunately, OP devised an idea for revenge just for the annoying passenger.

He wrote, “Real dumb to put someone upset with you in the seat behind you.”

A Clever Scheme

OP set a silent timer on his phone that went off every two minutes. This would remind him to kick the woman’s seat violently.

Annoying and Unbearable

On top of that, every time the seatbelt sign went off, OP would grab the top of the seat to lift himself, pulling her seat back and forth. There was even a time when OP accidentally pulled her hair as it was draped over the headrest.

OP wrote, “Safe to say she had lots of extra ‘turbulence’ and got absolutely no sleep. There were many death stares and head turns. Each time, I would just smile and wave.”

Tit for Tat

He was confident enough to do that since he knew the woman couldn’t complain as she stole the seat she was sitting on. If she had told the flight attendant what OP was doing, then it was more than likely that she would be asked to sit in the correct seat.

The Community’s Thoughts on the Issue

Though OP was successful in his revenge, people think he should have just called a flight attendant because things would have been easier that way.

A Redditor commented, “I’d have gotten an attendant to make her switch.”

Another person wrote, “You should have had the flight crew move her a** to the seat she paid for.”

Seating Struggles

Some Redditors shared their own flight experiences and problems regarding their assigned seats.

A person said, “This same situation happened to me before where a husband and wife were separated in two rows, but the wife wouldn’t move out of my seat because her seat was next to a very large person who definitely needed two seats. They couldn’t speak English. Real or exaggerating, who knows? And the flight attendant just ended up bumping me into first class to avoid the whole situation. Definitely got lucky there!”

People commended OP for what he did and his dedication to getting his revenge. For them, it was definitely worth it.

One Redditor said, “Every two minutes for five hours? That’s some next-level dedication, but it’s worth it. Some people might say she won, but man, that’s a ton of disruption for a long time. After 30 minutes, I would have said, ‘F*** it!’ and switched seats with you. Take the big dude and sleep on her giant stomach.”

“I don’t know why people are saying you lost. You handled things your way, ‘You inconvenience me, I inconvenience you harder.’ It made me chuckle just thinking about it,” another commenter wrote.

She’s Being “Reasonable”

Some people sided with the woman, saying her reason was understandable.

A commenter wrote, “There is a good reason she didn’t want to sit in her assigned seat. It’s not surprising that most people are glossing over that fact.”

Another one said, “Everybody is missing the central point in the story. And that was the 300-pounder in the seat next to her assigned seat. People are silently being bludgeoned to acquiesce to these ‘neighbors’ or be ‘fat shamed.’ Big people need to get two tickets or get premium economy or first-class seats. Saying everybody cannot afford such arrangements needs to be answered with ‘stuff your mouth less.’ The money saved can pay for the tickets.”

Unnecessary Apology

A person expressed regret for being a little bigger than most people and for the inconvenience she may have caused.

A Redditor wrote, “Speaking as a 300 to 400-pound female, I apologize for the inconvenience. I rarely fly. I’ve only done it four times now, I think, and I tend to try to take up as little space as I can; I know it’s bad on planes, even without having someone like me nearby.”

The same person added, “Sadly, I have a bladder the size of a golf ball, so no matter where I sit, I’m going to inconvenience someone by either needing to go past them or them past me. Still, that woman was a b****, and I would have helped mess with her.”

Have you ever experienced getting your seat stolen before? What did you do?
