Rest Up!
OP (Original Poster) was on a five-hour flight for a work conference. To make sure he got enough rest, he booked and paid for a window seat.
He said, “I booked a window seat because I like to lean against the wall to sleep.”
It Just Reeks of Entitlement!
He boarded the plane, settled in, and everything seemed fine. That is until an entitled mom and her entitled child boarded the plane.
The mom said, “Um, you’re in our seats.”
Nope, I’m Right Where I Should Be
OP double-checked the seat and his boarding pass and told the woman that his seat was 23A. The woman acknowledged what he said but argued that her son wanted to be next to the window.
She said, “Yes, but my son really wants to look out the window.”
Never-Ending Argument
OP explained that he paid for “this seat specifically,” so he wasn’t giving it up. At this point, the mom started getting agitated and angry.
She argued, “Well, my son has never flown before, and he should get to experience it. You should give your seat to him. He deserves it more!”
Flight Attendant’s Intervention
Like what the mom did earlier, OP acknowledged what the woman said. But he also reiterated that the seat was paid for.
At this point, the flight attendant noticed the commotion, and she approached the two adults, asking, “Is everything alright here?”
Out-Of-Place Anger
When the woman heard the flight attendant, she started complaining to her, perhaps thinking she would be on her side. She said OP was not letting her son sit by the window.
No Room for an Argument
However, the flight attendant didn’t side with the entitled mom. She explained, “Ma’am, the seats are assigned, and he’s in his correct seat.”
He Deserves This!
The entitled mom wouldn’t take no for an answer. She started yelling and screaming, saying, “This is outrageous! My child deserves this experience!”
No Can Do
The woman was causing a scene, but neither OP nor the flight attendant would let her have her way.
The flight attendant just said, “I can’t change assigned seats; you’ll have to sit in your assigned seats.”
Furious but Defeated
Finally understanding that she couldn’t win the argument, the woman just “huffs and puffs” and took her assigned middle seat next to OP.
A Selfish Move
The whole time, she was cursing at OP. The woman was “muttering” things like, “Some people are so selfish!”
Well, That 100% Was Worth It!
OP ended up sitting next to the entitled woman for five hours, and he noted that it was “no fun.” Even so, he held on to his window seat.
He said, “My comfort was worth more than her entitlement.”
Simply Unbelievable!
After OP shared his nightmare, he’s left feeling exasperated. He said, “Can’t believe people like this actually exist.”

The same person added, “People, it’s just a comment for shock value. It shuts an entitled person up pretty well. Scientific accuracy is not at the forefront of my intention with this comment.”
