OP is a “broke college student” who pays for her studies herself. Her dad was a “cheating deadbeat” while she was growing up, but they had a deal that he’d let her move in and stay until she graduated.
However, when OP’s dad got a new girlfriend who was moving in from another country, everything changed.
Her Dad’s New Partner
Her dad’s long-distance girlfriend was moving in from overseas. There should have been no issues because the house had two rooms, but her father is a “liar.”
So, his girlfriend believes that OP’s room was used by his ex and that she had already moved out. However, OP noted that her dad and his ex-girlfriend had been “sharing his bed” until the week before this story was posted.
Keeping up Appearances
So, to “keep up the ruse,” OP’s dad told her that she had two weeks to move out.
She was instructed to clear out her room, take her belongings, and “leave no trace of her existence” behind in the apartment.
She’s a Clean Freak
OP’s dad’s new girlfriend was apparently a “clean freak,” and her dad was desperate to impress her. So, out of all the options he could have chosen, he chose to kick OP out!
Her Plans
Understandably, OP was frustrated. So, she decided to leave her dad and his girlfriend a “little gift.”
She said, “Right before I leave, there’s going to be an ‘accidental’ spill of tuna juice on the living room rug, and there will be honey and sugar in inconspicuous corners.”
A Disaster Waiting to Happen
She hoped the ants would love her plans for her dad’s apartment. She also wished the tuna juice would go rancid and “make the whole place stink over the course of several weeks for no reason.”
OP did all this because she wanted her dad to be “embarrassed and miserable.”
Can’t Say Things Outright
In an edit, OP added that though she wanted to, she couldn’t tell his girlfriend the truth “without putting her physical safety on the line,” even if she did it secretly. If it were an option, she’d definitely come clean because she believed what her dad was doing was “awful.”
Change of Plans
OP then shared that her dad was currently “purging” the apartment, so her initial plans wouldn’t work. Something that would “immediately stink” wouldn’t work either, so she had to change her plans, but she wouldn’t give up.
She noted, “My dad’s a d***; it’s a long-established fact.”
Pushing Through and Moving Out
In another post, OP added an update. She shared that she had moved out as instructed but didn’t pursue her plans with tuna juice because the smell would be “too obvious.”
Instead, she dumped a bunch of sugar and honey everywhere her dad wouldn’t see. She also hid a bunch of veggie parts to rot behind the stove.

She said, “I don’t know if there were ants. I don’t know if there were bugs. I don’t know if my dad’s girlfriend was disgusted. I haven’t been in contact. I know, however, that a cockroach crawled in my father’s mouth in broad daylight as he was eating in the living room and that he chewed it, and it went crunch. The end.”
