OP (Original Poster) was on holiday with his 14-year-old son. One evening, they decided to stop at a bar to watch a football game.
There’s nothing quite like enjoying a good drink while relaxing and watching a game. Apart from this, OP was looking forward to sharing quality time with his son.
Sweet Tooth
OP noted, “I don’t really drink but do enjoy a cocktail while on holiday.”
So, since he didn’t drink often, he fully intended to enjoy his sugary cocktail to the fullest.
Order’s Up!
After a brief wait, the server stopped by their table to get their order. She asked if they wanted drinks, and OP asked for a piña colada.
Bad Attitude
As soon as the words left OP’s mouth, the server “sniggered” at the order. She laughed out a sarcastic “okay” and then strode off to make his drink.
Not Manly Enough
OP was immediately annoyed at the server’s rude reaction.

She tried to shuffle off fast, but OP wasn’t done with her just yet. That would be letting her off too easily.

OP asked for a cocktail stirrer to force her to return to his table. He wanted to really drive home that you should never harshly judge someone for the harmless things they enjoy.

When the server returned with the cocktail stirrer, OP took a sip from the straw in his piña colada.
He then kissed his hand and pointed to the sky, doing his utmost to hold a sad look on his face. OP fully played out his role as a grieving son, there to honor the memory of his beloved mother.
Regret Sets In
OP’s act paid off. The server appeared “visibly uncomfortable” at the mess she’d landed herself in with her rude actions, as she should.
He had to stifle his laughter at the obviously distraught server.
Hide and Seek
After OP had managed to shame the server and get his laughs in, he finally stopped messing with her.
For the rest of the night, the server dodged returning to their table multiple times. Perhaps she was too embarrassed to show her face after what she’d done?
