Not as It Seemed
During her first two years in her position, OP thought Beth was on a power trip and was “being a b****.” He found out that all she was doing was asking for some basic respect.

This truth became evident when the school had a meeting about her behavior and went over all of the problems she had. Most of them had camera footage, and OP saw that she had been acting professionally and the kids had treated her awfully.

After seeing how badly the kids had treated her, even calling her names, OP began to see Beth in a new light. The kids seemed to be just throwing tantrums because they weren’t getting their way.

A good example was when Beth told a girl she would have to do a balance test. She refused to remove her shoes and threw a fit at the athletic trainer.
Standing Her Ground
The athletic trainer hadn’t gotten mad but told the girl that if she didn’t do it, she couldn’t play. The girl finally complied but called Beth names, and her parents joined in, too.
A Simple Procedure
The situation with OP started because his 15-year-old daughter wanted to be a cheerleader. To do that, she needed a concussion test, and his daughter was well aware of the requirements because they had a cheer practice focused on the test.

After this, Beth went on vacation, and OP’s daughter can’t cheer until her concussion test. Given Thanksgiving, OP didn’t think she could do her test until December, so she’d miss many cheer events.
Caught on Camera
OP’s daughter asked him if he would fight the school for her. He said no because he had asked for the footage and saw how his daughter had acted.
Now It’s On
To make matters worse, OP’s wife was on his daughter’s side and wanted to fight the school. They both now think that OP is a “massive jerk” because he won’t fight for his daughter to be a cheerleader after seeing her behavior.
