OP (Original Poster) prefaced his story by saying that his mom and dad got a “bitter divorce” right after he was born. Afterward, his mom got full custody of him and his older brother.
Not an Absentee Dad
Fortunately, OP’s dad was always there for them. They’d see him on the weekends and spend most of the holidays with him.

When OP turned 18, his dad sadly passed away. OP and his brother didn’t have time to understand what was happening.

OP’s mom kept the money from the things she sold and never gave OP and his brother a cent. She even melted a gold bracelet with his dad’s name engraved to make herself a ring and a necklace.
A Selfish Comeback
When they found out, OP and his brother were absolutely livid! Instead of feeling sorry for what she had done, she just hit them back with responses like, “I have supported you your whole life!”

After everything, OP and his brother moved out to attend college. During this time, they tried to fix everything related to their dad’s estate and to put it simply, it was nothing short of a nightmare.

Mom’s Selfish Demands
Finally, the two got their inheritance. But little did they know that the drama wasn’t over yet.
When their mom found out about it, she demanded OP give all the money to her. Or, at the very least, she wanted OP to split the money into three so she could get one-third of the estate.

OP and his brother immediately and firmly refused. They believed their mom had no right to the estate.
