OP (Original Poster) worked at a marina with condos along the side. In his line of work, OP comes across many wealthy people.
Empty Marina Slip
One of their clients talked to them about a slip directly in front of one vacant condo where he could keep his boat. OP said, “It was a pretty tight-knit community, and we talked to the guy renting that slip about moving to another, and he had no problem.”
Incomplete Transaction
OP thought the transaction would be completed smoothly. But boy, was he wrong!
Everything was going great until the prospective tenant went to talk to the condo manager about renting the vacant unit.
Bad Personality
Unfortunately, the condo manager was “known for being a d***.” However, they never expected he would act like one to the prospective tenant.

The condo manager told the prospective tenant that someone else was waiting for that particular condo and that he could not have it.

OP forgot about the issue. However, a month later, he was surprised to see the prospective tenant moving into the condo directly in front of his boat.
He wrote, “I was a bit surprised, and I asked my boss about it, figuring the manager finally gave in or the ones who ‘reserved’ it backed out. Oh, but no!”
The Best Revenge Ever
OP’s boss told him that the guy was absolutely “p***ed!” So, he found out which organization owned the condo and bought out the whole complex!
Then, he promptly fired the rude manager.

One day, OP got to sit down and talk with the wealthy condo owner over beers. He asked why he didn’t just speak to the investment firm and get the condo manager fired.

Unexpectedly, the new condo owner replied candidly.
He wrote, “He said he was going to but still wanted the condo, and once going over the financials, he realized he had a good return on investment. Plus, he then had the opportunity to do upgrades he would not have been able to by renting.”
