OP (Original Poster) is an 18-year-old with two brothers, James, 33, and Brad, 24.
James is married to Vicky, while Brad had just broken up with his 8-year girlfriend, Fay, when this story was posted.
It Was Hard
The breakup took a toll on Brad and Fay, even though it was “technically mutual.”
OP explained, “I honestly don’t think either one of them wanted to break up. I think they just had so many people telling them that they’re so young and they haven’t dated other people and they should go out and explore ‘what else is out there,’ even though neither of them really wanted to.”

James was one of the people telling Brad this exact statement. He kept telling Brad that it “was crazy” that he “tied himself down” for his high school and college years.

Going to the Next Town
The day before this story was posted, OP was babysitting for a family who went to the center she worked at the next town over. She went for a walk and “just happened to walk through town,” where she said Fay’s new apartment was.
She explained that Fay and Brad used to live together, but she had to move to another town because she couldn’t afford the rent there by herself.
Not on Purpose
OP said that Fay’s apartment was right on Main Street, so it wasn’t like they went out of their way to walk by it.
However, she saw her oldest brother’s truck parked on the road while walking down the street. She didn’t think much of it because there could be “a million reasons why he might be there.”
Unexpected Sighting
Everything changed for OP when she was at a takeout place across the street from the apartments at around one in the morning with her friend. While eating, she suddenly saw James and Fay talking outside his truck.
She said it all seemed “totally normal” at first, but when Fay went to walk away, James grabbed her arm, pulled her back toward him, and kissed her. Then, the two got into the truck and drove away.
Confused Heart and Mind
OP doesn’t know what the right thing to do is. However, she approached James and told him he had to tell his wife about what she saw.
