She Refused to Give Her Mom $15,000 for a Tummy Tuck, Afraid That She’d Be “Funding Her Death.” But Her Siblings Say She’s Being “Controlling” by “Policing” Her Mother’s Body!

A young woman just got a great job and wanted to give her mom a gift. She’s giving her $15,000 under one condition: no tummy tucks allowed!

Three Wishes Only

OP’s (Original Poster) mom, a 60-year-old woman, only wanted three things in life. She wanted nice teeth, a nose job, and a tummy tuck.

Raising Her Children

OP was a 30-year-old female who recognized that her mother had given up a lot. Her mom had to raise them without much money, and her mother had always sacrificed for OP and her siblings.

Despite her desire to have nice teeth, OP’s mom had spent all her money on her kids. OP said that when she was in high school, her mom had spent her savings on Invisalign for her instead of using it herself.

More Sacrifices

OP’s mom had always wanted a nose job due to an accident that OP was involved in.

She shared, “I also accidentally broke her nose when I was in high school because we were moving a heavy dresser.”

A Lifelong Reminder

OP’s mother had slammed her face on the dresser when OP dropped it, resulting in a broken nose. The break had healed well, but her mother did not like how it made her face look.

The First Kid

As for the tummy tuck, OP said her mom had often joked about how her eldest daughter, OP, had “ruined her body.” OP had been her first kid, and the pregnancy had resulted in significant damage to her midsection, leaving her with a lot of excess flesh.

Recently, OP had gotten an excellent job, and that job had given her a sign-on bonus. She wanted to take the $15,000 and use it to give her mother the chance to do everything she wanted for Christmas.

The One Exception

The only exception to this rule was the tummy tuck. OP had heard about how difficult it was and how a tummy tuck had more complications when compared with other plastic surgeries.

Blame and Guilt

OP said that she couldn’t imagine having anything happen to her mother. What would make this worse is that OP would have paid for the procedure and would feel responsible.

One of the key things that kept popping out to OP was what had happened to Kanye West’s mother. He had paid for his mom to get a tummy tuck that ended up with her dead due to complications.

OP brought her plan up to her siblings, who were not enthusiastic. They told OP that she shouldn’t restrict how her mother could spend the bonus money.

It Gets Worse

Some of her other siblings, particularly her sister, were also disturbed by her actions. She said that OP was trying to “police” and “control” their mother’s body.

To add to that, they reminded her that gifts shouldn’t have any stipulations. Now, OP’s asking, “Would I be the a**hole?”

Redditors mainly agreed with OP’s siblings and made it clear where they stood.

One Redditor summed it up well and gave some suggestions by saying, “You would be the a**hole if you’re going to give her money. You will have no control over where she spends it. Just get her a card that says ‘teeth’ and say you’ll take her to sign up or buy Invisalign and pay for it. Then, on her birthday, take whatever is left and do the same, but the card says ‘nose job,’ and you go to the plastic surgeon.”

Another offered OP some advice, saying, “You’re the a**hole. You can’t give someone a Christmas gift and tell them how and when to use it. What you could do, however, is offer to pay for one of the procedures specifically as a gift.”

Redditors came down hard on OP and did not like the idea of her putting stipulations on the money.

On Redditor said, “You would be the a**hole. You can’t give someone money as a Christmas gift and put that kind of stipulation on it. Your siblings are 100% right. If you give her $15,000, then it’s her $15,000 to do what she wants.”

What do you think about OP giving her mom money and telling her what to do with it? How would you handle the situation if you were in OP’s place?
