The cause of the problem was that OP had multiple cats as pets, making it extremely hard to keep the house clean. She went all out, using air purifiers in every room, vacuuming numerous times a day, steam cleaning at least once a day, and dusting all the time.

OP would change her bedding frequently and clean and sanitize the food bowls, litter box, and pet beds. She would also take her cats to get groomed regularly.
