She insisted on ordering even after the employee refused service several times because of her noisy toddler. She thinks she’s right, but everyone else believes she’s in the wrong!

OP (Original Poster) shared a video on TikTok that went viral. She ordered via a Panera Bread’s drive-thru, and the employee refused to take it.

She captioned her post with, “What child doesn’t make noise?”

In the recording, only the intercom can be seen as OP’s and the employee’s voices can be heard. Apparently, the worker was distracted by OP’s screaming child in her car and had difficulties understanding her order.

When the employee refused to provide service, OP stayed and kept on asking and pushing why the man didn’t want to take her order.

She asked the man right from the start of the video, “So you are going to refuse my order because my child was screaming?”

The employee confirmed her question, saying he had the right to do that.

He also told her, “You’re more than welcome to come inside, or you can place an order online, and we’ll make it for you.”

But that wasn’t enough for OP, and she had to ask the man again. All this time, her child was still heard screeching in the background.

When he unsurprisingly declined her again, she threatened him, saying she had the whole interaction recorded.

She added, “I will be emailing corporate because that’s just like completely rude.”

She also reasoned that she could not enter the restaurant because her daughter wasn’t wearing shoes.

She asked him, “Do you understand that?”

Then, the employee answered, saying he did understand. However, he also reiterated that she was more than welcome to order online as well.

With that, she annoyingly asked, “So you want me to take an extra 20 minutes and order online?”

Afterward, there was silence. OP still continued to argue with the poor employee.

She said, “That’s not convenient to me. It’s your job to take orders and stuff, and this is ridiculous.”

When she, once again, told the employee that she’d like him to take her order, he caved and finally agreed, but on one condition.

He said, “Okay. I will be happy to take your order as long as your daughter does not scream. All right?”

OP definitely felt like she won the argument and that everything she said and did was right. Her response to him was, “I think that’s a pretty good decision on your part.”

However, as soon as she said that, the man can be heard saying, “Okay, I don’t need this attitude,” as the video ended.

According to most online users, the employee’s refusal was valid. A child screaming can be painful to someone wearing earphones, especially when they least expect it.

A commenter wrote, “Keep in mind the employee has earphones on.”

Someone else agreed, saying, “Yes, they are adjustable, but it is painful when someone is screaming into a headset. There is no way to know someone will be screaming ahead of time.”

Instead of gaining the sympathy she wanted, OP received lots of hate and criticism. People said she should have been a better parent and taught her kid to be respectful.

A commenter wrote, “Perhaps if the mom had spent a little time to quiet her toddler instead of videotaping that, there would have been a better outcome.”

Another person said, “If the employee can’t hear the order over the screaming, how is that refusal to do their job? What about the mother who refuses to do her job and keeps junior quiet so the employee can do their job?”
