A commenter came to a theory that the servers’ reason for denying service might be more than just not tipping.
Someone said, “I bet there’s more to the story than we’re hearing, and we’re only getting one side. I’ve had 40 years managing restaurants. I bet tipping really isn’t really the issue here. All the servers knew her friend. I’d like to know the real reason her friend has a reputation.”

Then, some people suggested that someone shouldn’t dine if they cannot tip their server.
“Servers do not work for free. If you are that cheap or ‘cannot afford to tip,’ go to the drive-thru for a value meal. For your information, businesses have the right to refuse service, and, in this case, I applaud the manager for taking care of their employees,” a commenter wrote.
Another said, “My mom always says don’t go out to eat if you can’t afford to tip.”

Instead of relying on tips, a commenter suggested that people should get a better job.
One person said, “No loss going elsewhere. Tipping has gotten to the point that they think you owe your money to them. I’m going to say it out loud: you do not have a right to my money. Get a better job and stop whining.”
