A Big Brother’s Duty
OP (Original Poster) is 32, while his younger sister is 30. She had just gotten married the day before this story was posted, and OP was “so happy for her” that he agreed to help her out on her big day.
A Child-Free Wedding
Before his sister’s big day, she told OP the wedding would be child-free. OP completely understood why she would want to make it so.
Since he’s a single dad, he asked his best friend if there was any way he could watch his son for the day. Thankfully, his friend happily agreed.
It Was Anything But!
When OP arrived, he found out that the wedding was anything but child-free! His sister lied to his face about the guests.
Unexpected Response
There were around 15 kids in the venue, and OP was absolutely confused. Despite the negative feelings brewing inside him, he didn’t want to make a scene.
He waited until his sister approached him and asked her what “the deal” was. OP, however, never expected the words that would come out of his sister’s mouth.
Stealing the Spotlight
What OP’s sister told him broke his heart into pieces. He said, “I don’t know how I can look at her the same way again.”
She confessed that OP’s 12-year-old son was excluded from the wedding because he has an amputated leg. OP wrote, “She said it would draw attention to him at the wedding.”
An Absurd Reason
OP could have understood any other excuse, like if his son would be disruptive. However, his sweet boy being banned because of his amputated leg was unacceptable.
He almost lost it and blew up at his sister’s wedding!

He didn’t trust himself to stay calm if he remained at the wedding. So, he just walked out and went home.
