OP (Original Poster) was devastated when she found out her sister uninvited her to her wedding just because she was only 17. Now, it’s her turn to make her feel the way she did!
Years of Hurting

Seven years before OP posted this story, her sister was going to get married, and she was “so excited.” She was only 17 then, and talked to her sister about her big day, what she would wear, if she could help her plan it, and more.
However, her sister was always “dismissive.”
You Won’t Be Part of It

A few weeks before her sister’s wedding, she told OP it would be an “18+” wedding because she wanted to “exclude annoying kids.” She made it a non-negotiable rule, and no one could be an exception.
You’re Too Young!

OP’s sister said she was “too young for the adult atmosphere” anyway. Sadly, she didn’t think much about how OP would feel about not being invited to her own sister’s wedding.
What made matters worse was that her 18th birthday was a week after the wedding!
It’s Not Gonna Happen

She was understandably devastated, so she tried to beg her sister to let her go. She said that she really wanted to be present and support her.
OP wrote, “My stepmom refused to go to the wedding as a result of that, and my dad almost divorced her over that, among other things.”
You’ll Regret It

With her sister not changing her mind, OP just accepted it. OP told her sister that, in the future, she wouldn’t invite her to her wedding, either.
However, OP’s sister just took it as a joke. She scoffed, laughed, and said OP was just “immature,” and she’ll soon “forget about it.”
Soon-To-Be Married

Seven years later, OP is now 24 and will be getting married in a few weeks.
She shared, “My fiancé’s dad owns a massive yacht company. They rent out yachts, make repairs, and sell equipment. The wedding party will take place on a yacht which can accommodate 200 guests.”
Her Sister’s Interest

When her sister found out about it, she asked OP about the wedding, and OP told her she wasn’t invited.
OP’s sister got mad, accusing her of being “petty.”
Bringing the Past Into the Present

OP’s sister told her she was being “hurtful” because her reasons were “justified” and everything was “in the past.”
However, OP feels her sister just wants to be on the yacht. For OP, her sister isn’t planning to attend her wedding to support and be present for her.
Do You Regret It?

Like how her sister treated her before, OP was firm in her decision. She shared, “I told her that she should’ve thought about that back then, and now she understands how I feel and that she’s only jealous that my wedding will be better than hers.”
Pressure From the Family

After her argument with her sister, OP’s dad called her and said she “needs to stop being petty.” He told her to invite her sister, and her other relatives agreed.
However, OP told them no, and after some arguing, they eventually caved and respected her decision.
Turning to the Public

Because no one else was on her side, OP’s sister started turning to Facebook to express her complaints.
OP wrote, “My sister is being a b**** about it on Facebook. A friend suggested I should make my sister delete all the Facebook posts and write an apology letter saying why it was wrong to exclude me from the wedding. I think that’s cringe.”
The Community’s Thoughts on the Issue

Redditors reassured OP that it was her wedding. So, it was up to her to invite whoever she wanted; similarly, it was up to her to uninvite anyone she didn’t want to be present.
“Your wedding, your rules. Maybe your sister can rent a dingy and get people to toss her canapés. Not the a**hole,” wrote a top commenter. Another exclaimed, “I love this! Shrimp toast off the starboard side! Row, b****, row!”
Hilarious Suggestions

People had some crazy but funny ideas they wanted to share with OP, too.
One wrote, “Make her clap her flippers and bark like a seal for treats.” Another agreed, saying, “Yeah! Then throw the fish heads from the entrées at her face as hard as you can! Or just have the entire wedding party and guests throw their leftovers at her, pummeling her all at once and heckling her! Definitely, smiting and heckling should happen.”
I Know What You Mean

There were also Redditors who zoomed in on OP’s stepmom and dad.
One noted, “Your stepmother is a gem for supporting you. Your father is garbage. Now she can be excluded and know how it feels.” Another said, “At this point, I would also uninvite the dad. He supported and almost divorced his wife over his other daughter’s decision, yet won’t back up the other daughter’s decision. He clearly has a favorite.”
Do you think OP’s sister deserves it? What other suggestions do you have for OP?
